Members Page

It is absolutely OK to receive a message when accessing this page that reads "The name on the security certificate does not match the name of the site". We are sharing security certificate.

SMC Alumni members will be able to create their own one page profile while others can search their profiles as and when needed. These page profiles will be monitored randomly. Please maintain discipline in posting your information on this site. Shared Secured Socket Layer (SSL) technology has been enabled to encrypt data transmission from you (client) to this website. This should ensure that your username and password, and all information that you provide will be encrypted over the internet and, ideally, cannot be stolen. Please make sure that your browser is capable of handling 128-bit SSL. You should see a tiny yellow lock at the lower right of your browser window in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. This site can be accessed by 2 URLs:

http://members.smcalumni.net (insecure), and
https://members.smcalumni.net (secure)

Please make sure that you are including the "s" behind "http" to read https:// and not http://. The protocol https indicates secured http. Using only http, your data can be spoofed relatively easily over the internet. This is just for your information. Our attempt is to try our best in encrypting personal data transfer between you (client) and this website (webserver). We make no guarantees, however. So, please submit information that is not critical.

What do we have in the members page

Here are some highlights of what we want to have on the members page:

  • Personal profile for each member:
Each member wil have their own login and password. Members can create a profile for themselves that says more about them, their achievements and moments that they want to share with SMC Community
  • Birthday, Anniversary, New wedding listing
  • Moments of happiness
  • Moments of sorrow
  • Professor information (now we grab your attention, dont we?)
Members can mention about some special moments about professors, and professors about students. But mind well, this is no place to spit vengeance. So dont even think about it !!
  • Nickname and "where am I these days" database
Suggestions are more than welcome. Feel free to email us or use the feedback form from the main page of SMC College of Dairy Science Alumni Association webpage (http://smcalumni.net )
